Writing
Nasozi is a seasoned design writer and speaker, with over 25 works published by Apartment Therapy Magazine (online). Her debut illustrative design book, The African Decor Edit, is being released in October 2024 by Abrams Books.
The African decor edit
The African Decor Edit (Abrams Books) is a 256-page written and visual collection of artisan stories from across Africa. Entirely developed, art directed, and written by Nasozi, it is the rare design book that delves into the origin and meaning behind the furnishings and accessories shown.
Drawing from over a decade of experience working with artisans throughout Africa for her product design studio, she traveled the continent to gather these stories through first-hand interviews, home visits, and studio visits.
Nasozi also developed new four-part framework that guides lovers of African decor and objects on how to ethically purchase them, and then meaningfully incorporate the wares into their own homes.
apartment therapy
Apartment Therapy (AT) is a media company and online destination "dedicated to helping people transform their lives by providing inspiration, instruction, tools and connection..." Four for years, Nasozi scouted, wrote about, photographed over 25 homes throughout the United States and Brazil as a freelance photographer and journalist. During this time, she single-handedly contributed to the increased visibility and representation of diverse families and home tours on the AT website. Apartment Therapy receives 23 million visits a month, and Home Tours are one of its most popular destinations. Many of the homes she debuted here were recognized by and featured in larger print publications in the years to come. Visit all of her articles here. (Right: Joshua Kissi, Brooklyn, 2015)
blog articles
In a collection of over 20 blog articles, Nasozi shares valuable insights on the xN Studio blog, The Chronicle. Accessible, fun, and honest, the blog functions as a repository for home projects, travel advice (like bringing your own reusable coffee mug when you visit Berlin!), and insights into running a small business.
urban magazine
Nasozi was a writer and co-editor for URBAN Magazine, the graduate student-run publication at Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. She authored two articles during that time that touched on issues of land use and city beautification in Kampala, Uganda. Read Letter from Uganda here.
